The short version

Palnetto is a free tool for running amateur radio nets. We keep only what's needed to run nets and keep accounts secure. We never sell, rent or share your information for marketing, there are no ads, and there are no third-party trackers.

What we store

Check-ins. When net control logs you, we store your callsign, the name and location you gave on the air, how you checked in, any traffic or comments, and the time. Checking in never requires an account. Logs belong to the organization that runs the net.

Radiograms. When net control copies formal traffic, the message (addressee, text and signature) is stored so it can be printed, relayed and delivered. Only the station who copied it and that net's managers can see it.

Accounts (net controls, managers and anyone who signs up): callsign, name, email, phone, street address, city and state, a securely hashed password, and optional two-factor settings. Your address, email and phone are visible only to you and Palnetto administrators.

Public FCC license data. Palnetto keeps a copy of the FCC's public amateur license database to fill in names, check licenses and confirm registrations.

Security records. Sign-in attempts and an audit log of changes, to protect accounts and keep net logs trustworthy.

Feedback you send, with the page you sent it from.

Who can see it

Net controls and managers see the logs for nets they run. Organization managers see their organization. Palnetto administrators can see everything in order to support the service. If a net uses Streamer View, the callsigns, names and locations on that net's live board are visible to anyone with its link (usually a livestream audience); comments and contact details never are.

Cookies and email

One cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser also remembers light/dark mode and text size. That's it.

We email you only for things you'd expect: confirming your address, password resets, invitations, approvals, and monthly net reports if you're a net control or manager.

Your choices

Update your profile anytime on My account. To delete your account, or to have your name and location removed from past check-ins, email no-reply@palnetto.com. Your callsign may remain in historical net logs kept by the organizations that ran those nets.
